Scottish Language Dictionaries are celebrating Burns Night this year in conjunction with the Scottish Poetry Library by hosting a special Burns Nicht Tam Tag which also marks the tenth anniversary of the SLD. The public are being invited to take part in a test of knowledge, both of the Burns poem Tam o Shanter, and of the Scots language. What’s more, the participants with the greatest knowledge of Burns and the Scots language can win a Compact Scots Dictionary or a Modern Scots Grammar. The event will take place on Thursday 24 January 2013, beginning at 6.30pm in the Scottish Poetry Library in Edinburgh, and costs £7 (or £5 concession).
