Scots Culture Day

Perth Burns Club is hosting its 10th annual Day of Scottish Culture, which will include some well known names from the Scots language world. The day will be held from 1.30-5pm in the Soutar Theatre, AK Bell Library, York Place, Perth, on Saturday 30 November 2013. The speakers on the day will be broadcaster and writer Billy Kay, on The Eastland Diaspora (Scottish migration to the Baltic, and Poland in particular), Dr Kirsteen McCue, on The Songs of James Hogg, The Ettrick Shepherd, and poet Rab Wilson, who will be presenting a film on the recent reconstruction of the head of Robert Burns in a slot entitled The Burns Heid An Aa That. The talks will each last approximately 40 minutes and tickets cost 10 which includes tea and coffee. Tickets may be purchased from Concorde Music, 17 Scott Street, Perth, or the AK Bell Library itself.
