Shetland web site launched

A new web site dedicated to Shetland dialect and culture was launched in Lerwick on Saturday. Folk from the community joined members of the dialect campaigning group, Shetland Forwirds, at an event to celebrate the launch of the site.
Michael Hance, SLC Director and a member of the Shetland Forwirds committee, gave a warm wlecome to the new site. 'It's great that this site is live and running. I hope this is the first of many sites dedicated to Scots dialects. SLC sends its best wishes to everybody in Shetland who has helped develop this fantastic resource.'
