*The first 2 verses of this are a traditional bairn-rhyme & game played usually by father and child. Whilst the adult recites the verses, he holds the child straddled over the raised forelimb of his crossed legs, as if the child was on horseback The child holds his father's hands as if they were reins. He is bucked gently up and down during "the leddie's" ride, and bounced vigorously during the gentleman's ride. Generally, the adult tires far sooner of this game than the child.
