Broadcast in the Scots Language

19th January 2009

Well known broadcaster and writer Billy Kay, who has long been a champion of the Scots language, is to host a programme about Burns which will be broadcast in the Scots language on BBC Radio Scotland. In this programme, entitled The Linguistic Legacy of Robert Burns, which will be transmitted at 15.05, Billy travels around Scotland and enquires how much of the bards tongue is used today. Speaking in their own tongues, people tell Billy what they think of the bard and his language, and how the Scots language fares today.
