Dictionaries of the Scots Language have a free app available for schools. The app is available on Android or Apple devices via the links below.

The app, first launched in 2015 but updated relaunced in 2021, is based on the Essential Scots Dictionary. Learners may search for words and add words to the 'Favourites' section for later reference. To help with pronunciation, many of the words in the app have audio.  To see full etymologies, and for advanced searches, teachers and learners in the senior phase may prefer to use the Dictionary of the Scots Language at dsl.ac.uk, or consult the recently updated ‘Concise Scots Dictionary (2nd edition)’.
