Lallans Journal
Lallans, the only periodical entirely in Scots, is published twice annually by the Scots Language Society with money from the Scottish Arts Council. The first number came out in 1973, making Lallans one of the longest running literary magazines in Scotland. It features poems, short stories, essays and reviews from a wide variety of writers, ranging from popular culture and literary criticism to history and politics. On this page you'll be able to find information about the current an previous issues, sample articles, subscription details and information on how you can submit your own work to Lallans for publication.
The latest edition of Lallans is number 71, winter 2008, and includes work by Robert R Calder, Charles P Connor, John McPartlin, and an academic discussion by George Philp and J Derrick McClure regarding Scotscreive.
