Calling Borders and Caithness!

11th April 2013

Where are the Borders and Caithness dialect writers? This is the question Evertype Online Publishers are asking. Some time ago Evertype launched a project to translate Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland into many languages and their respective dialects, including the Scots language. So far, some dialects of Scots, such as North East (Doric) and Shetland, have produced wonderful versions of the story, but despite appeals from Evertype no one from the Scottish Borders or Caithness has stepped forward to take up the challenge. If you would like to suggest yourself as a candidate for translating into Southern Scots (also known as Borders) or into Caithness dialect, please contact general editor Jon Lindseth for more details at jalindseth@aol.com .
