Scotch Scare Go
Ulster-Scots writer and performer Darren Gibson tells the charming tale of a friendly scarecrow who appears when children are afraid helping them to overcome their fears. ‘Scotch the Scare Go’ by author Neil Dickinson, is a heartwarming reminder to weans young and old that the best way to fight our fears is to face them head on. Developed by the Bready and District Ulster-Scots Development Association. Darren Gibson is an Ulster-Scots screever born an raired doon the Airds, in tha toonlan o’ Ballyfrenis nearhaun Millisle. The ‘low country’ or lower Ards has been a source of constant inspiration in Darren’s writing. As a native Ulster-Scots speaker, he believes that the hamely tongue plays a vital role in understanding the identity of the Ulster-Scots people. His past works include ‘Fae tha pen o’ an Aul Han’ a newspaper column which ran for several years in the Belfast Newsletter. He was also a regular contributor to ‘A Kist of Wurds’ on BBC Radio Ulster where more recently his documentary ‘WG and Me’ was broadcast. Darren has written several screenplays in Ulster-Scots, including the BBC’s first Ulster-Scots language production, ‘Stumpy’s Brae’. More recently Darren presented the highly acclaimed factual entertainment show ‘Afeared’. He is currently working on several shows for television as well as a feature length film in Ulster-Scots. Bready and District Ulster-Scots Development Association promotes and develops Ulster-Scots heritage, language and arts throughout the Derry City and Strabane District Council area and manages the Sollus Centre in Bready.

Awakening The River
Memory of water is a two year creative Europe funded project consisting of six European artists exploring post-industrial cultural heritage on waterfronts, in the context of urban planning and community development. The following film is a collaboration between Fable Vision who co-ordinated the project, STAGE (Scottish Talent Across Generations Events) and the Greek memory of water artist Ira Brami the film is called "Awakening The River" Happy Samhain! The Celtic festival that inspired Halloween. Enjoy.
