Scots Language Centre Centre for the Scots Leid

Interactive learning materials

The Scots Language Centre have produced a new range of online, interactive learning materials for use by learners aged 3-18, teachers and parents. These are available at www.scotslanguage.com/learning

The activities were developed by the Scots Language Centre (www.scotslanguage.com), with help and guidance from Education Scotland and the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, and with support from University of Glasgow. Some activities have been developed from materials formerly in the ‘Scuilwab’ (a website ran by Dictionaries of the Scots Language) which is now closed.

They were tested by Primary and Secondary learners and practitioners in Glasgow and West Lothian, and are designed to support the teaching and learning of:

  • CfE Literacy and English
  • CfE Modern Languages
  • SQA National 4, National 5 and Higher English
  • SQA Scots Language Award at levels 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Further information, including a list of the activities available, is listed in the ‘Teachers’ Notes’  and 'Parents' documents below.
