Jacko records Burns album
Categorised in:
Controversial music star Michael Jackson has helped to record an album of Robert Burns poems in his California studio, reports the Daily Record this week. The poems have been set to contemporary music by Jackson working with David Gest – ex-husband of Liza Minelli – as show tunes, in line with their original idea for a musical version of the life of the Scottish bard. Apparently Jackson has become a great fan of the ideas and work which drove Burns. However, media pundit Jeremy Paxman has recently dismissed the work of Burns as “sentimental doggerel” when introducing the latest edition of Chambers Dictionary.
