Broadcasting Commission and Scots
The Scottish Broadcasting Commission is conducting an enquiry into the current state of television output and broadcasting in Scotland, and is looking to develop a strategy for the industry as a whole. As part of this enquiry the Commission will take into account the influence of broadcasting on the economy, cultures and democracy of modern Scotland and will publish a report in the summer of 2008. The commission website has feedback forms for visitors to give their views and no doubt Scots speakers and activists will want to ensure that the Scots language is not ignored but included in the final report. Any one who wants to make a comment regarding the cultural section of the enquiry should respond by the end of February 2008, and for the democratic section by the latter end of April 2008.
