Fabiani appointed Minister for Culture
First Minister, Alex Salmond, has appointed Central Scotland list MSP, Linda Fabiani as the new government's Minister for Europe, External Affairs and Culture. Fabiani was first elected to the Scottish Parliament in 1999 and held a number of posts with the SNP during the sessions the party was in opposition.
Michael Hance, Director of the Scots Language Centre, welcomed Fabiani's appointment. Speaking last Thursday, Hance said, "I'm very pleased to hear about this appointment. I know Linda has been supportive towards Scots in the past and I'm hoping we'll have a chance to meet her soon to discuss ways in which the new government can do more to encourage the language."
With the new Parliament having been elected only two weeks ago there are still no signs of an updated video of Ms Fabiani on its site. However you can hear more about her and her politics by visiting her previous entry on the Parliament site.
