Kidnapped Translated

It won't be the first time that Kidnapped has been translated but it surely is the first time the Stevenson novel has been rendered in Scots and as a graphic novel too. Kidnappit is the latest product from Scots language children's publisher Itchy Coo and will be on sale from 1st February. The book has been commissioned as part of the "Edinburgh is Reading Kidnapped" event organised by Edinburgh City of Literature and is one of two graphic versions of the novel - the other is in English. The City of Literature is encouraging as many Edinburgh citizens as possible to read any of five versions of the book during February.
A spokesperson said, "This is a unique project created by the world's first UNESCO City of Literature which aims to get as many Edinburgh citizens as possible reading this exciting adventure story - on their own initiative, or through libraries, schools and book groups."
Kidnappit will be launched on 31st January at a free event to be held at the Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh. More details from the city of literature.
