www.LTScotland.org.uk/earlyyea is the official guidance to those involved in birth to 3 caring provision. There is information on projects and examples of best practice from across Scotland. This includes promoting language development through play. There are examples from Aberdeenshire on helping speech development through role-play, conversation and discussion. Another project in Victoria Nursery/Primary, Glasgow encouraged developing language development in a multicultural setting. Information on publications include 'Birth to three - supporting our youngest children' and a parents guide. This is available in English and Gaelic but not Scots. There are some resources about Robert Burns and Scottish culture.
