New Centre for Robert Burns Studies

Categorised as:

Robert Burns

The University of Glasgow has recently launched a new Centre for Robert Burns Studies devoted to the many facets of the bard's life an intended to act as a 'hub' for research and study on an international level. An integral part of this process will see the establishment of a Global Burns Website.
Dr Gerard Carruthers, from the Department of Scottish Literature, at the University of Glasgow, is the Director, and he has commented "No writer has wider appeal, both popular an scholarly than Burns."
The new Centre is a partner in the equally new Robert Burns Research Network which is funded by the Arts and Humantities Research Council.
