Edinburgh's Artist in Residence
The Department of Celtic and Scottish Studies, at the University of Edinburgh, is pleased to announce that Frieda Morrison has been appointed their Artist in Residence for the coming semester. Morrison has the official remit for song in the Scots language, a position intended to highlight the collection of music in Scots held by the university. The residency is also intended to help reintroduce songs from music collections back into the oral tradition and will focus on songs not so well known by society today. Frieda Morrison will be working to involve schools in the richness of the Scots language song tradition. You can see her perform at the University of Edinburgh St Andrew's Night concert.
