Callum Macdonald Award

This award was created in 2001 to honour Scottish publisher Callum Macdonald who had an important influence in post-war Scotland. The prize is awarded each May and consists of a cash prize of £750 and The Callum Macdonald Quaich. To qualify for entry, publishers must be either of Scottish origin, be living in Scotland, or be contributing to Scottish culture, and must submit up to three pamphlets, not less than six, and not more than 36 pages, of poetry by any writer in any of Scotland’s languages, including, of course, Scots. The pamphlets must have been published between January and December 2009. The closing date for entries will be 2 April 2010. The winning entries will be displayed at the National Library of Scotland.
