Register now for Government Conference
The Scottish Government is planning to hold a one-day conference at Stirling University on Monday 9 February 2009. The conference is aimed at organisations or individuals with an interest in the Scots language, and will have two aims: to formally present the findings of the Scottish Government’s audit of provision for the Scots language; and to enable discussion of the way forward for promoting and developing the language. The audit findings are due for publication later this month. The Minister for Europe, External Affairs and Culture, Linda Fabiani MSP, will be participating at the conference, and the writer and broadcaster Billy Kay will be guest speaker and MC for the day.
At time of writing the agenda and other arrangements for the event have still to be finalised. Further information will be made available as soon as possible in advance of the conference. Anyone wishing to register their interest in attending this event should e-mail Michael.Napier@scotland.gsi.gov.uk by 23 January 2009.
