Weil, weil - I'm back again. Sairry for no postin on here for a wee while; it's been ma Freshers' Week at the Uni, ye see, an I hae been feil thrang, I can tell ye - whit wi no sleepin, meetin new fowk, reddin out the fankles o ma Uni computer account... thrang, thrang, thrang.

I jyned up tae twa-thrie (in fack, fower) societies, ane o thaim bein the Folk Music Society, or FolkSoc. They'r ettilin at makkin new sarks, bunnets an socks (FolkSocks. Geddit?) this year, an I may jist be bedeckin masel in thaim. I wis surprised tae fin that haein a baird wisna needfou for fowk ettlin tae jyne. I wis also pleasandly surprised whan twa fowk gied renditions o ballads in Scots at the first new session o the year, wi fowk jynin in an aw. Yung fowk, mind. Students, fowk out for a a guid time liltin awa in guid, naitural Scots. Guid singers an aw. For masel, ma vocal rainge micht weil be owertaxit by "Ye Cannae Shove Yer Granny" or "Ye Cannae Fling Pieces Out A Twenty Story Flat" - but aiblins I'll pluck up the courage for The Twa Corbies ane o thir days. I can play it on guitar, sae the nou I'm jist needin a body wi a vocal rainge o mair nor ae semitone...

The postie brocht the new Lallans the day. They didna pit in the things I'd sent thaim, but I'm no greitin, leuks like a guid read oniewey - in fack, thon's jist whit I'm awa tae dae the nou.

Aw the best, God Bless - an howpfully I'll hae duin mair on here neist week.

Sang o the Week : Myrkgrav - De To Spellemen. Norrowegian ae-man baund gets the help of Lumsk bassist Espen Hammer an the drummer out o Fromloff tae raicord the album "Trollskau, Skrømt og Kølabrenning" (Troweshaws, Ghaists an Coalburnin), a guid auld fashioned blackened fowk metal album wi a guir mixtur-maxtur o clean an harsk vocals. The sang I waled this week is an auld Danish fowk sang, the rest o the album is in the braid Ringeriksdialeck

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v - here's the sang. Nae dout ye can aw owerset the title yersels.
