Hello aw, howp ye hae aw been fine this hinmaist week. I'm nippin out in a bit, sae jist time fer a wee blog this week

I hae been feil thrang, I can tell ye that. Syne I'll be daein Scottish History at Uni in September, I decidit tae get a heid stairt a while back an read aw the Scottish history buiks I cuid get ma hauns on. Nou, its intressin stuff, I can grant ye thon, but its no hauf haird gaein at twa in the mornin!

Wi thon in mind, I tuin a day aff frae heivy readin yesterday an read throu Ian Hamiltons "The Taking of the Stone of Destiny". It wis a quick read, but boy wis it a guid ane. I jalouse ye aw ken the story by nou, its awmaist pairt o wir naitional fowklair the nou; nanetheless, I'd recommend the buik tae aw Scots fowk. The hail thing's a wul rollercoaster an nae dout! It seems the fower yung heroes cuidna gae twa meinutes but rinnin intae the polis - an whit wi car saets, campin gypsies an snawy gates the hail thing comes aff as a true modren adventure o the heichest order. Absolutely braw; an ye needna gree wi aw o Hamilton's thochts tae enjoy the story o ane o wir kintra's cheekier victories.

An nou ontae the nae less important but sumwhit less inspiring maitters o the intricacies o the fuedal seistem...

The ithir Lumsk album I ordered cam throu this week. It's cried "Det Vilde Kor" (The Wul Choir), wi the leirics taen frae a buik o poems o the samyn name by the Norrowegian makar Knut Hamsun. It cuid aiblins be a bit mair metal nor in fack it is; but the melodies is bonnie, there's a guid rainge o styles kivvered, an it's in the end a no bad follae up tae "Troll."

Sang o the Week : The Beatles - In My Life. Bonnie sang, that.

God Bless,

Dunc
